How to restore lost text in Tot for iOS & Mac OS

Tot makes backups automatically every hour while it's running. These backups are stored safely and securely and contain the same information as iCloud.

Unfortunately, iCloud can have issues (especially during macOS upgrades) or you can accidentally delete more than you expected. If this happens, you can restore one of the automatic backups.

On the Mac:

Use the File > Show Automatic Backups… menu item to get a list of your changes over the past few days. Each file is JSON text that can be viewed in a text editor and restored using File > Restore Backup…

On iOS:

Open Tot and Tap Settings > Advanced Settings > Restore Backup.

Select one of the automatically backed up JSON files containing the data you want to restore. Usually this is the most recent version of the file.

Tap Restore

We recommend that you always leave Tot running on the Mac so it can backup any changes you make on another Mac, an iPhone, or an iPad.
