iCloud syncing after installing Tapestry on a new device seems slow or stalled. What's wrong?

 

The syncing badge is an indication that syncing is actually working, it just takes time. Please do not force quit the app. If you force quit while the syncing badge is still visible, the entire process will have to start over from the beginning, taking even longer to complete. 

 

 

 

Why does syncing take so long?

 

If you bought a new iPad, or iPhone, Tapestry's iCloud data needs to be synced, this includes all timeline records from when you first started using the app. Depending on how long ago this was, this process can take a very long time. 

 

Other factors like the speed of your internet connection, iCloud status, and how many accounts and RSS feed you are trying to sync all affect how long the process can take.

 

 

For example… in an estimate...

 

Bluesky may take 5 mins.

Bluesky + Mastoodon may take 10 mins.

Blueshy + Mastodon + Youtube may take 15 mins.

 

Bluesky + Mastodon + Youtube + another connector you installed may take 20 mins.

 

All of the above plus 300 RSS feed – will probably take a few hours at least.

 

It also depends on if the app is in the foreground or background. In addition, please make sure Iconfactory Tapestry's version number is identical across all platforms where you use the app.
